Central City helps share knowledge to ensure consistent, quality service
Central City Brewers + Distillers Beer and Spirits Education team works with servers, bartenders, and managers from Grain at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver to share knowledge about the brewing and distilling process.
The Central City team visited the group at Grain to talk about everything from beer, to bitters, spirits and cocktails.
Mixologist Christos and Spirits Expert Liam took the Hyatt team through the brewing and distillation processes, helping everyone gain a better understanding of both when talking to customers.
Exploring the world of flavours and aromas, Hyatt staff members were introduced to the surprisingly simple ingredients that make up beer and spirits, and how each one affects the sensory receptors. Through smelling tinctures, essential oils, herbs, and spices, Christos and Liam helped the group experience the nuance of the many different flavours and additions that go into our products like our Double Double Gold-winning Queensborough Gin.
In order to better understand the ideal way to employ specific ingredients in cocktails, the group explored flavour, aroma, and off-flavour wheels – tools to help in both pairing, identifying, and describing the various sensory experiences of both beer and spirits.
