Central City Celebrates 15 Years with the New Lohin McKinnon Imperial Porter

Central City began as a brewpub in the Central City mall in 2003 and soon formed part of the second wave of craft breweries in British Columbia.
Since opening 15 years ago our company has grown and expanded although we never lost sight of those early roots. Now in a larger facility we are able to explore other passions such as creating world-class whisky and gin, in addition to creating multiple award-winning beer. As a way to pay homage to where we’ve come from and also look to the future, we decided to bring back our imperial porter to celebrate Central City’s 15 year anniversary. Making it extra special this year is our ability to age the porter in oak barrels that previously matured our award winning Lohin McKinnon Single Malt Whisky.
This new Anniversary Porter exudes aromas of roasted malts and bakers chocolate while offering intense flavours of vanilla, oak, chocolate, dark fruit, and whisky. The rich and robust flavours of this beer are complimented by a silky smooth body that makes this strong beer deceptively easy to drink.
Coming in at a hefty 10.8% ABV this beer can be enjoyed now or cellared for a few years to help the flavours mellow and meld together for even greater enjoyment.
Grab a glass of the new Lohin McKinnon Aged Imperial Porter at the brewery or one of our Central City brewpubs. A small number of kegs of this special beer were produced and can be found at select locations around BC and AB. 650mL bomber bottles are available for purchase from our brewery store as well as some exclusive private stores around BC.
